Meet Dr. Eric Benefield

Dr. Eric Benefield, a native of Grand Junction, Colorado, takes great joy in serving his hometown community. Raised in the Redlands area, he holds fond memories of his time at Scenic Elementary, Orchard Mesa Middle School, and Fruita Monument High School. His love for the outdoors remains strong, with hiking, biking, hunting, fishing, and golfing among his favorite activities. Despite the challenges golf presents, he keeps at it, always aiming to improve his game.


Dr. Benefield’s journey in dentistry began at Utah Valley University for his undergraduate studies. His hard work paid off when he was chosen from nearly 3,000 applicants to join the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. In 2003, he graduated as valedictorian, a testament to his dedication and skill. Following graduation, he served for three years as a dentist in the U.S. Army at Fort Polk, Louisiana.


Family is at the heart of Dr. Benefield’s life. He and his wife Aimee are proud parents to six children – four daughters and two sons. Each of their daughters was born in a different state, adding a unique touch to their family story. Their sons, Hinckley and Thomas, are named after men who have had a significant impact on both Dr. Benefield and his wife.


Returning to Grand Junction in October 2011 was a dream come true for Dr. Benefield. He finds great satisfaction in raising his children in the same area where he grew up, watching their love for the outdoors and the Western Slope grow. Dr. Benefield feels truly at home providing dental care in a place that holds such special meaning for him. His practice in Grand Junction allows him to give back to the community that shaped him, combining his love for dentistry with his deep connection to the area.
